 2022 Preview

Jackson completed the 2021 season with a 11-3 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 4A region one, the Aggies earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Jackson made a nice playoff run in 2021, reaching the semi-finals before falling to a very good Vigor team by the score of 42-21.

The Aggies won as many games as in any season since 2015. The Aggies hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Flournoy saw improvement as they won eleven games following a 6-5 record in 2020.

As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Jackson has gone a combined 115-36. Their 76.2% winning percentage ranks 1st in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Jackson has managed to compile a record of 183-111. Their 62.0% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class 4A and 81st in the AHSAA. Their last losing season was 2007.

The Aggies are led by head coach Cody Flournoy who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 23-14 over the past three seasons at Jackson. Under his direction the Aggies have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Flournoy.

Coach Flournoy's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 34-24 (58.6%). Over the course of his career, Coach Flournoy's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times .

The Jackson Aggies will play in Class 4A region one during the 2022 season.

The Aggies enter the 2022 season riding a 6 game regular season winning streak. They have won 11 straight games on their home turf at Legion Field.

The Aggies should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. They have reached the playoffs every year since 2007 and will once again be in the hunt for a spot in 2022.

The Aggies open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Demopolis on Friday, August 26 at Legion Field. Last year the Demopolis Tigers finished with an overall record of 7-5 and in first place in Class 5A region three. The Tigers lost in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs to Andalusia by a score of 48-26.

Jackson and Demopolis have met a total of 15 times on the football field. The Aggies have a 7-7-1 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2019 with Demopolis winning by a score of 32-27.

Jackson returns 4A All-State Senior linebacker Jalen Pickens. He was named to the second team last season.
