Richard Grammar of Hartselle blocked two punts which, led to a pair of touchdowns as the North upset the South 13-7 for a 9-8 lead in the series.
Bubba Locg of Oneonta, named the game's Most Valuable Player, rushed for 72 yards in 12 carries and Raymond Weaver of Guntersville threw a touchdown pass to Jimmy Underwood of Deshler.
The North defense held down the South's vaunted passing attack led by quarterback Scott Hunter of Vigor.
