 The 1957 Lanett  were chosen as Class 2A  Region 2  State Champions by the Birmingham News.
 Summary:
 
The Lanett Panthers rolled through their 1967 schedule on their way to a perfect 10-0 season. They outscored their opponents 251-51 and have a 19-0-1 record over the past two seasons. The Panthers were led on offense by all-state performed Bobby Hunt who rushed for 409 yards and passed for another 419 yards. Charlie Stephens was the leading ground gainer with 805 yards rushing and an eight yard per carry average for the season.

Lanett trailed only once during the season that after Alexander City jumped to a 7-0 lead but the Panthers would regain control and coast to a 33-7 win. Mailon Kent rushed for 687 yards with Wayne Holley gaining 140 more. Hunt was the leading passer completing 23 of 67 aerials, while Donnie Howell was the leading receiver with 12 catches for 204 yards.

Coach Morgan was assisted by Ken Avinger and Albert Killian.
