1960 Enterprise

1960 Enterprise
 Record: 9-0-1
 Head Coach: Morris Higginbotham

The 1960 Enterprise  were chosen as Class 2A  Region 4  State Champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
 Summary:

Coach Morris Higginbotham won an unprecedented third state divisional title from the Birmingham News. He also won titles with West Blocton (2-AA in 1955) and Walnut Grove (3-A in 1952). When principal Oscar Zeanah came to Enterprise in 1959 he brought in Higginbotham to coach the football team. The Wildcats enjoyed a successful season in 1959 losing only to Eufaula 24-15. Ironically the same Eufaula squad would keep this team from completing a perfect season by tying them 7-7.

The Wildcats were led by all-state center Gaylon McCullough and a formidable defense. Warren Rowe led the charges on offense by rushing for 790 yards and throwing for more than 400 yards as the left halfback in the box formation. Bob Snellgrove was a leader on the defense. Kenneth Grice performed the punting duties by averaging 41.1 yards per kick. Steve Bromberg handled the kicking duties and hit on two field goals and 24 of 28 extra point tries.
