Summary:
          The Vestavia Hills Rebels, losers of the past two state championship games, found a way to defeat Parker High School for the school's first title. The final score was 15-13 in favor of the Rebels.
          Danny Pritchard booted a 17 yard field goal with just 2:55 remaining in the game for the deciding points. Vestavia Hills marched from their 29-yard line to setup the winning kick.
          The Rebels drove 69 yards for the game's first touchdown. Lance Gulledge scored on a 5-yard run to give Vestavia a 6-0 lead. Parker answered with a 72 yard drive that ended with a Roderick Washington 8 yard pass to Alan Plump in the third quarter. The score tied the game at 6-6. The Rebels answered with a one yard run by Lance Gulledge at the end of the third.
