Summary:
              Hamp Greene scored all of Montgomery Academy's points in a 10-6 win over Billingsley. The Eagles completed a perfect 14-0 season, the first undefeated season in school history to claim the 1A state championship. Greene scored on a 2 yard run with 47 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Eagles to victory.
              The Bears had scored earlier when quarterback Deon Timmons passed 33 yards to Chris Ousley for a touchdown with 9:20 left in the game. The two unbeaten teams had fought to a 0-0 tie until early in the fourth quarter when Green kicked a 41 yard field goal on the first play of the final stanza. The game was also the first title game appearance for Billingsley.

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
