North Jackson let Tony Johnson go after going 2-8 and missing the playoffs for only the second time in school history.

Ariton (AL): Julius Head, who is in his third stint as the head coach at Ariton HS, has decided to step down. Defensive coordinator Floyd Graham has been elevated to the head coaching job.

LaFayette is open.

Dialleo Burks is coming home.

Burks, a LaGrange High graduate, is returning to his old school to be the head football coach.

The official announcement will be made this evening at the Troup County Board of Education.

Burks, a member of LaGrange?s state-championship team in 1991, spent the 2013 season as the head coach at Lafayette High School in Alabama.

Nathan Wehunt is out at Ohatchee.

Ohatchee Opening: There?s a lot of interest surrounding the Ohatchee football coaching job, which opened up after the resignation of Nathan Wehunt several weeks ago. Wehunt is coaching the boys basketball team and after finishing the school year will most likely be moving back to Georgia, he said.

Calhoun County Schools Superintendent Joe Dyar said he?s turned the coaching search over to Ohatchee principal Bobby Tittle, who will make a recommendation to the board of education once he finds the right candidate. Dyar added the opening has gotten ?many resumes extremely quickly.?

A timetable for the hire is unknown.

Walker (AL): Walker HS has removed the interim tag from Heath Brunner and named him head coach. Brunner led the team to an 8-1 record this year.

Chilton County (AL): Head coach Donnie Hand has resigned
