Boaz selected Pelham offensive coordinator Jeremy Sullivan as its new head coach. His hiring was approved during a Boaz City Schools Board of Education meeting Monday night.

Mike McCarty is the new Sumiton Christian football coach. He was also an All-State receiver for the school in 2000. According to Johnathan Bentley, Sports Editor for the Daily Mountain Eagle, Jasper.

Martez Edwards will not return this fall as Bessemer City football coach. Varsity coaches at Bessemer City are required to re-apply for athletic positions on an annual basis. Edwards did not re-apply following the 2016 high school football season.

Per footballscoop Robert Bradford is the new Head Coach at Lamar County. Previously he was a HC at Samson HS (AL) from 2011-2013 and Pleasant Home (AL) from 2007-2010.

Per footballscoop Aliceville HS new head coach is Melvin Pete Jr. Pete Jr. previously led the Central-Tuscaloosa (AL) program to a state title in 2007.
