The new school in Pike Road will field a football team for the first time since 1933. In communications with the football coach at the school, Patrick Browning, they wish to be known as the same school that existed in the 1920s.

They will be the Patriots and compete in region 3 of Class 3A.

I saw just the other day they made a post in the classifieds on AHSAA looking for coaches. I researched it and saw they had been playing JV, and didn't know if they were going varsity, or staying JV. I had also wondered if it could be considered the same school.

Pike Road will play all home games this season at Alabama State. The high school is located at the old Georgia Washington Middle School.

Pike Road's game against Central-Hayneville is a home game at Faulkner instead of Alabama State.
