I wanted to give everyone a heads up on my plans on how to handle the schedules for each team as best as I can. For now all cancelled games will remain on a team's schedule until I am positive the game has been cancelled with a mutual agreement of both teams or one of the teams had to forfeit the game. If a game is cancelled it will show as an open date for both schools on their schedule.
Either way it may take some time for all the games to be resolved as far as a winner and a loser or a cancellation. What I need is VERY accurate information to make some of those determinations. I assure you some games will remain with an unknown outcome for weeks. For instance..... a game is not played on Friday night. One school states the game was cancelled. The other school states they received a forfeit. What to do? What to do?
The only hope I have is to go by what the AHSAA posts each week for region standings and try to figure it out from there. I also can see a scenario where at some point during the season the AHSAA amends their previous declaration on the fact that all games cancelled will be forfeits for one school. They could change that to just cancelling the games. That is what Georgia is doing. No forfeits, just cancellations.
We will do the best we can with what we have to work with. But it is going to be a challenging season for everyone involved including me when it come to entering scores and keeping region standings accurate.
More on this and other things that we will be doing differently or not at all this season because of the drastic changes in high school sports for this season. I will post an article this weekend.
Athens has a change of plans for its first two games. First game at Fort Payne has been cancelled while the Aug 28 game against James Clemens has moved to October 30.
Russell County has delayed all fall sports until Sept. 4 due to present COVID-19 data, according to superintendent Brenda Coley and athletic director Mark Rose. Canceling their game with Barbour County and don't know what that means for Smith Station yet.
Guys, this 2020 season will be a disaster. As much as I want football I have to ask just what the heck are we doing trying to have it at all? We haven't even started yet and it already looks like a big a mess as the finale to Game of Thrones.
Florala plays Red Level at Red Level this year not at home. There is also a typo on the red level game on the Florala schedule that keeps it from linking to the Red Level schedule.
The Evangel-Alabaster schedule that you have for 2020 is actually the schedule for Evangel-Montgomery with the exception of the Meadowview game. The only schedule I could find for Evangel-Alabaster is on Maxpreps, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.
Spartan. I will look at the Evangel schedules. Both schools. The 6 man and 8 man schools are a real pain when it comes to tracking down the scores. It is near impossible. I eventually use MAXPREPS but i just as well throw a bunch of numbers in a hat and draw them out as use them for a reliable source. MAXPREPS is a terrible source for scores. Too many clowns think it is cute to enter some score that is totally wrong.
I will make a deal with you or anyone else. I usually do not even try to get the 6 man or 8 Man scores until midweek. If you or anyone wishes to help with those I would really appreciate it.
Once you find all the scores for all the teams just post them here or email them to me directly. It would sure help me out as I have never found a good reliable source.
