Ryan McCoy out at Pleasant Valley

The Pleasant Valley basketball team starts school Monday in search of a new basketball coach after second-year coach Ryan McCoy stepped down Wednesday to pursue other teaching opportunities.
PV principal Mark Proper confirmed the decision. There was no immediate replacement and a search for a new coach was about to commence

Pleasant Valley hires Ryan Chambless as boys basketball coach. He resigned as Cleburne County boys basketball coach. He was formally boys and girls coach at Jacksnville and boys coach at Ohatchee.

The Calhoun County Board of Education approved Ryan Chambless this morning as the new boys basketball coach/science teacher at Pleasant Valley High School. He starts in the classroom Thursday, but was expected for football practice Wednesday afternoon

Just wondering where you heard this, not saying it's wrong but Brandon Tidmore has been the baseball coach at Fairview for the last few years and I was just wanting to confirm if he has in fact been hired as basketball coach. The job has been open for a few months and they don't seem all that worried about hiring someone, or at least letting the Fairview community know who they are gonna hire.

I got Brandon Tidmore as basketball coach from scanning the minutes of the Cullman Co BOE meeting announcing the coaching supplements for the year. I knew he'd been baseball coach and assumed they gave it to him as an interim thing, but it must have been a typo because their team c2c page still has Eddie Groves as head coach.

Not singling out any specific posts, but any new coaching change mention needs to have a source accompanying the post. Just saying that such and such is a new coach somewhere is nothing more than hearsay unless there's a source. If someone reads online somewhere that a certain person has been named coach, attach a link for the place where you found it. It makes everything that's posted here be more reliable, and not just word of mouth. That being said, other sites that say nothing more than 'we hear' whatever, is also word of mouth, until there's actual confirmation.

I wasn't meaning you, Mike, as you always post where the information comes from, anyway. It's more so to let those that might be unaware, or have forgotten, that a source is needed. It just makes the information we have here be factual.

I went to Fairview and believe me, I've been waiting on confirmation for who was gonna be the new basketball coach ever since Coach Groves resigned but as of about a week ago no mention had been made in either one of the local Cullman newspapers and the Fairview High School website didn't have anything except a link for Basketball that took you to a blank page. The reason I am pretty sure Branch Whitlock is new coach is I was told by a teacher and a couple of the players on the team that's who it is.
