 High School Bio:

            Andalusia High School Halfback. Punting and Passing were his specialties. In his last two years of varsity football he caught 71 passes for a total yardage gain of 981 yards. He scored 13 touchdowns and gained 642 yards rushing. He received a Scholastic Award for maintaining highest average, All-South Alabama Conference honors in 1961 and 62, Honorable mention, Montgomery Advertiser All-State, Best Blocking Back in 1962 and also excelled at Track and Baseball.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
