 High School Bio:

            He played four years of varsity football. He was All-City, All Big-Six, All-State, All-Southern, All-America, Jefferson County Top Lineman of the year. He also played baseball. Royal missed several games his senior season, due to an injury, but when he was in the lineup he was his teams mainstay on the defense.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
