 High School Bio:

            Jerry Dooley, voted Emma Sansoms most valuable football player, completed 10 touchdown passes and ran for another six touchdowns during the 1953 season. Jerrys scholastic record was as impressive as his athletic career. He was awarded a trophy for the highest scholastic average at Emma Sansom. Jerrys athletic honors include: All-Etowah County, Most Valuable Basketball Player 6th District, Best All-round Athlete and M.C.A Republic Steel Corporation Trophy. He excelled in nearly all the sports-basketball, baseball, tennis, and football. Under K.O. Hillers coaching, Jerry played three years of varsity football, serving as alternate captain one year.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1970 Monroe Academy won the first championship in the A.I.S.A. by defeating Lowndes Academy 6-0.
