 High School Bio:

            As a junior McCarron threw for 2,532 yards and 26 touchdowns while leading the Saints to their first Class 5A state championship over Briarwood in the Super Six. During his sophomore season he passed for 1,974 yards, 25 touchdowns and three interceptions. He was most impressive as a junior for the Saints when he threw for 2,532 yards, 26 touchdowns and three picks.

As a senior he passed for 1,560 yards, 15 touchdowns and only two interceptions. During his three years as a starter at St. Pauls he threw for 6,066 yards, 66 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.

A.J. followed his senior year by playing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic in Mobile. He was named as the MVP of the game.

As a junior he was named to the All Southern team by the Orlando Sentenial and the Super 12 by the Alabama Sports Writer Association. He was a two-time 5A All-State selection (2007-08).





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Bart Starr received coaching from Kentucky great Babe Parilli his senior season at Sidney Lanier in hopes of joining Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He had to settle for Alabama.
