 High School Bio:

            Homer Smitherman, a 165 pound left-halfback, represented Thompson High School at the All-Star games in August 1955. His honors include All-State in 1953-54, and All-County 1951, 52, 53, and 1954. Homer played varsity football four years, and was elected captain of his squad one year. His specialty was punting, pass receiving, and returning kicks. His punt average is 39.4; rushing 103 carries, 1,014 yards (average 9.9), passing 14 attempts, 8 completions for a gain of 148 yards.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
