 2016 Preview 


       Last year Ardmore finished sixth in Class 5A region 8 with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Ardmore has gone a combined 24-37. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 5A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Ardmore has not won much with a record of 74-179. Their 29.0% winning percentage ranks 52nd in Class 5A and 348th in the AHSAA.

       The Tigers are led by head coach Clint Legg who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 12-19 over the past three seasons at Ardmore. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Legg.

       Coach Legg's overall record as a head football coach in three seasons stands at 12-19 (38.7%). Over the course of his career, Coach Legg's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

      

      The Ardmore Tigers will play in Class 5A region 8 during the 2016 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Tigers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in Region 8 this season.

       The Tigers open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Elkmont on Friday, August 26 at Cooper Field. Last year the Elkmont Red Devils finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in seventh place in Class 4A region 8. The ended last season on a positive note with a win over Clements by a score of 45-31 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Ardmore and Elkmont have met a total of 78 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 51-27-0 record against the Red Devils. They last met in 2023 with Ardmore winning by a score of 41-14.
