 2016 Preview 


       Last year Greene County finished seventh in Class 3A region 4 with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Greene County has gone a combined 19-42. Their 31.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 3A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Greene County has managed to compile a record of 65-99. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 3A and 280th in the AHSAA.

       The Tigers are led by head coach Gentrall Eatman who is entering his second season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 5-14 over the past two seasons at Greene County. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Eatman.

       Coach Eatman's overall record as a head football coach in two seasons stands at 5-14 (26.3%).

      

      The Greene County Tigers will play in Class 3A region 4 during the 2016 season.

       This season, the Tigers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 4.

       The Tigers open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Francis Marion on Friday, August 19. Last year the Francis Marion Rams finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 2A region 4. The Rams lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to G.W. Long by a score of 55-0.

       Greene County and Francis Marion have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 7-0-0 record against the Rams. They last met in 2023 with Greene County winning by a score of 13-0.

  








Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
