 2016 Preview 


       Last year Thompson finished sixth in Class 7A region 3 with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Thompson has gone a combined 15-45. Their 25.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 7A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Thompson has managed to compile a record of 111-147. Their 43.0% winning percentage ranks 27th in Class 7A and 251st in the AHSAA.

       The Warriors are led by head coach Mark Freeman who is entering his first season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-5 record in his first season at Thompson. The Warriors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Freeman.

       Coach Freeman's overall record as a head football coach in seventeen seasons stands at 169-42 (80.1%). His 169 wins rank 15th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Freeman's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of fifteen times and won nine region championships.

      

      The Thompson Warriors will play in Class 7A region 3 during the 2016 season.

       The Warriors have a good chance to earn one of the playoff slots for Region 3 this season.

       The Warriors open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Godby FL on Friday, August 26 at James L. Simmons Stadium.

       Thompson and Godby FL have met a total of 1 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 1-0-0 record against Godby FL. They last met in 2016 with Thompson winning by a score of 56-21.
