North River Christian completed the 2015 season with a 6-3 record. The Chargers improved in 2015 with their first winning season since 2010. The Chargers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2011 season and would love to end that streak this year. Since 2010, North River Christian has gone a combined 20-35. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class A over the past six seasons. Over the past 18 seasons, North River Christian has managed to compile a record of 51-69. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class A and 31st in the AISA. The Chargers are led by head coach Maurice Adams who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-8 over the past two seasons at North River Christian. The Chargers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Adams. Coach Adams' overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 8-8 (50.0%). The North River Christian Chargers will play in Class A region two during the 2016 season. The Chargers move up in classification to Class A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move. It will be an uphill battle for the Chargers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. Unfortunately, North River Christian finds themselves in a very competitive region with other playoff quality teams. They may need to pull off an upset or two to have any shot at the postseason. The Chargers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Pickens Academy on Friday, August 26 at Billy McGee Stadium. Last year the Pickens Academy Pirates finished with an overall record of 6-6 and in third place in Class AA region one. The Pirates lost in the semi-finals round of the Class AA playoffs to Marengo Academy by a score of 48-7. North River Christian and Pickens Academy have met a total of 2 times on the football field.
