The Panthers lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to Spanish Fort by a score of 49-14. Calera and Pelham have met a total of 11 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 4-7-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 1985 with Pelham winning by a score of 35-14. Calera returns 5A All-State quarterback Cornelius Brown. He was named to the second team last season. The Eagles also return offensive lineman Jayson Jones. He was named to the first team. The Eagles also return defensive back Trent Yowe.
