Clements completed the 2017 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Clements finished sixth in Class 3A region eight with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Colts have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2009 season and would love to end that streak this year. The Colts last playoff victory came during the 1988 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Clements averaged scoring just 12.2 points a game. Since 2010, the Clements football program has struggled with a record of 14-66. Over the past 25 seasons, Clements has not won much with a record of 67-176. Their 28.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 3A and 349th in the AHSAA. The Colts have struggled on the football field with only four winning seasons during this time. Their last winning season was 2009. The Colts will be under the direction of new head football coach Michael Parker as they enter the 2018 season. Coach Parker's overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 14-27 (34.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Parker's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . The Clements Colts will play in Class 3A region eight during the 2018 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Colts if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region eight this season. The Colts open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Elkmont on Friday, August 24 at Boss Hill Stadium. Last year the Elkmont Red Devils finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in seventh place in Class 3A region eight. Clements and Elkmont have met a total of 63 times on the football field.
