 2018 Preview

Daleville completed the 2017 season with a 6-5 record. With their 5-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region two, the Warhawks earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Daleville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Oakman by a score of 31-12.

Since 2010, Daleville has gone a combined 56-31. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Daleville has managed to compile a record of 149-114. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 2A and 117th in the AHSAA.

The Warhawks will be under the direction of new head football coach Michael Dean as they enter the 2018 season.

The Daleville Warhawks will play in Class 2A region two during the 2018 season. The Warhawks may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 3A to 2A. They will compete in region two this year.

The Warhawks should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

The Warhawks open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Kinston on Friday, August 24 at Kinston Stadium. Last year the Kinston Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 1A region two. The Bulldogs closed out the regular season with a loss to Samson by a score of 28-25.

This will be the first meeting between Daleville and Kinston on the football field.
