 2018 Preview

Donoho finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Donoho finished sixth in Class 1A region four with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Donoho was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Falcons want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.9 points a game.

The Falcons would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 4-16 record. Since 2010, Donoho has gone a combined 49-36. Their 58.0% winning percentage ranks 14th in Class 1A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Donoho has managed to compile a record of 130-127. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 1A and 172nd in the AHSAA.

The Falcons are led by head coach Mark Sanders who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 2-8 record in his first season at Donoho. The Falcons have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Sanders.

Coach Sanders' overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 19-22 (46.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Sanders' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

The Donoho Falcons will play in Class 1A region five during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Falcons remain in 1A but move from region four over to region five.

It will be an uphill battle for the Falcons if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region five this season. After just 2 wins last year, Donoho will be hoping to become more competitive in the region.

The Falcons open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Biggersville MS on Friday, August 24 at Lantz Field.

This will be the second meeting between Donoho and Biggersville MS on the football field. The Falcons have a 0-1-0 record against Biggersville MS. They last met in with
