 2018 Preview 


       Eufaula completed the 2017 season with a 9-3 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 5A region two, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Eufaula reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Vigor by a score of 19-13.

       Since 2010, Eufaula has gone a combined 64-28. Their 70.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class 6A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Eufaula has gone a combined 194-83. Their 70.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class 6A and 29th in the AHSAA. The Tigers have been successful on the football field with twenty-two winning seasons during this time.




       The Tigers will be under the direction of new head football coach Ed Rigby as they enter the 2018 season.

       Coach Rigby's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 53-12 (81.5%). Over the course of his career, Coach Rigby's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won three region championships. Coach Rigby won a state championship at in 2015.

       The Eufaula Tigers will play in Class 6A region two during the 2018 season. The Tigers move up in classification to Class 6A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

       The Tigers enter the 2018 season riding a 5 game regular season winning streak.

       The Tigers should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. They have reached the playoffs every year since 1997 and will once again be in the hunt for a spot in 2018.

       The Tigers open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Early County GA on Friday, August 24 at Tigers Stadium.

       Eufaula and Early County GA have met a total of 9 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 6-3-0 record against Early County GA. They last met in 2017 with Eufaula winning by a score of 42-20.

       Eufaula returns 5A All-State  running back Joe Green. He was named to the second team last season. The Tigers also return  quarterback Taylor Gover. He was named to the honorable mention team.

       College prospects include: Brandon Hudgins (6-0, 225) outside linebacker,

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
