 2018 Preview 


       Jackson Academy completed the 2017 season with a 7-4 record. With their 2-2 region record and a third place finish in Class AA region two, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Jackson Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Lakeside by a score of 35-34.

       Since 2010, Jackson Academy has gone a combined 48-44. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Jackson Academy has managed to compile a record of 105-151. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class A and 28th in the AISA.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Jacob Webb who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 13-9 over the past two seasons at Jackson Academy. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Webb.

       Coach Webb's overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 32-33 (49.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Webb's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won one region championship.

       The Jackson Academy Eagles will play in Class A region one during the 2018 season. The Eagles may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AA to A. They will compete in region one this year.

       The Eagles will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region one this season.

       The Eagles open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Marengo Academy on Friday, August 24 at McCorquodale Stadium. Last year the Marengo Academy Longhorns finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fourth place in Class A region two. The Longhorns lost in the first round of the Class A playoffs to Chambers Academy by a score of 43-0.

       Jackson Academy and Marengo Academy have met a total of 28 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 7-21-0 record against the Longhorns. They last met in 2015 with Marengo Academy winning by a score of 45-6.

       Jackson Academy returns AISA All-State  linebacker Micah Roberts. He was named to the second team last season.
