The Tigers open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Georgiana on Friday, August 31 at Glenn Daniel Stadium. Last year the Georgiana Panthers finished with an overall record of 11-1 and in first place in Class 1A region two. The Panthers lost in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs to Marengo by a score of 18-0. Luverne and Georgiana have met a total of 61 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 38-21-2 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2011 with Luverne winning by a score of 50-20. Luverne returns 2A All-State linebacker Arian Gregory. He was named to the honorable mention team last season. The Tigers also return defensive back Ellian Harris. He was named to the first team. The Tigers also return receiver Satyler Wilson.
