 2018 Preview

McAdory completed the 2017 season with a 6-5 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 6A region four, the Yellow Jackets earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. McAdory's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Carver Montgomery by a score of 13-7.

The Yellow Jackets lost as many games as in any season since 2011. The Yellow Jackets had some tough luck last season as three of their five losses were by less than eight points.

The defense was very stingy last season as McAdory ranked 49th in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 14.6 points a game.

As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, McAdory has gone a combined 77-24. Their 76.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 6A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, McAdory has gone a combined 210-74. Their 74.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 6A and 16th in the AHSAA. The Yellow Jackets have been successful on the football field with twenty-three winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 1996.

The Yellow Jackets are led by head coach David Powell who is entering his twenty-fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 210-74 over the past twenty-four seasons at McAdory. Under his direction the Yellow Jackets have qualified for the playoffs a total of twenty-three times. They have won eleven region crowns with Coach Powell.

Coach Powell's overall record as a head football coach in twenty-four season stands at 210-74 (73.9%). His 210 wins rank 11th among active coaches in the AHSAA.

The McAdory Yellow Jackets will play in Class 6A region four during the 2018 season.

The Yellow Jackets will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region four this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 1996 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2018.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Helena on Friday, August 24 at McAdory Stadium. Last year the Helena Huskies finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 6A region three.
