 2018 Preview 


       Northridge completed the 2017 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Northridge just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 6A region four with a 2-4 region record.

       Northridge was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Jaguars want to be competitive. They only averaged 19.9 points a game.

       Since 2010, Northridge has gone a combined 41-45. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 6A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 15 seasons, Northridge has managed to compile a record of 64-92. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 6A and 269th in the AHSAA.




       The Jaguars are led by head coach Mike Vickery who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 7-13 over the past two seasons at Northridge. The Jaguars have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Vickery.

       Coach Vickery's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 7-13 (35.0%).

       The Northridge Jaguars will play in Class 6A region four during the 2018 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Jaguars if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region four this season.

       The Jaguars open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Mountain Brook on Friday, August 24 at Northridge Stadium. Last year the Mountain Brook Spartans finished with an overall record of 8-4 and in third place in Class 7A region three. The Spartans lost in the second round of the Class 7A playoffs to Thompson by a score of 34-10.

       Northridge and Mountain Brook have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Jaguars have a 0-3-0 record against the Spartans. They last met in 2010 with Mountain Brook winning by a score of 17-7.
