 2018 Preview 


       Prattville Christian finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-8 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region three, the Panthers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Prattville Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hillcrest Evergreen by a score of 61-0.

       The Panthers have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2018.

       Prattville Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Panthers want to be competitive. They only averaged 19.8 points a game.

       Since 2010, Prattville Christian has gone a combined 32-55. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 3A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 12 seasons, Prattville Christian has not won much with a record of 43-86. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 3A and 330th in the AHSAA. The Panthers have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. Their last winning season was 2010.




       The Panthers are led by head coach John Fussell who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-14 over the past two seasons at Prattville Christian. Under his direction the Panthers have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Fussell.

       Coach Fussell's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 11-21 (34.4%). Over the course of his career, Coach Fussell's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times .

       The Prattville Christian Panthers will play in Class 3A region three during the 2018 season.

       The Panthers will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region three this season.

       The Panthers open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent J.U. Blacksher on Friday, August 31 at John M. Sawyer Memorial Stadium. Last year the J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 2A region one. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Luverne by a score of 47-20.

       Prattville Christian and J.U. Blacksher have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Panthers have a 1-1-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in with
