 2018 Preview 


       Rogers completed the 2017 season with a 11-1 record. The Pirates cruised through the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record going into the post season. Last year Rogers captured the region eight title and a number one seed in the Class 4A playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-0 record. Rogers reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Hokes Bluff by a score of 12-0.

       The defense was very stingy last season as Rogers ranked 5th in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 8.9 points a game.

       Over the past two seasons the Pirates have gone 23-2 and will be looking to continue that winning tradition. Since 2010, Rogers has gone a combined 57-34. Their 63.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 4A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Rogers has managed to compile a record of 144-119. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 4A and 141st in the AHSAA.




       The Pirates will be under the direction of new head football coach Jerry Fulks as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Rogers Pirates will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2018 season.

       The Pirates enter the 2018 season riding a 21 game regular season winning streak.

       The Pirates should be considered one of the favorites for the region eight championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

       The Pirates open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Loretto TN on Friday, August 24.

       Rogers and Loretto TN have met a total of 33 times on the football field. The Pirates have a 18-14-1 record against Loretto TN. They last met in 2017 with Rogers winning by a score of 56-14.

       Rogers returns 4A All-State  offensive lineman Nick Canfield. He was named to the first team last season.
