 2018 Preview 


       Thorsby completed the 2017 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 2A region four, the Rebels earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Thorsby reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Goshen by a score of 42-8.

       No team at Thorsby ever won more games in a season than the eight victories last year. The last time they won as many was back in 2010. The Rebels hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Davis saw improvement as they won eight games following a 1-9 record in 2016.

       Since 2010, Thorsby has gone a combined 34-50. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Thorsby has not won much with a record of 81-165. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 2A and 322nd in the AHSAA.




       The Rebels are led by head coach Daryl Davis who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 18-33 over the past five seasons at Thorsby. Under his direction the Rebels have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Davis.

       Coach Davis' overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 18-33 (35.3%).

       The Thorsby Rebels will play in Class 2A region four during the 2018 season.

       The Rebels will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region four this season.

       The Rebels open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Jemison on Thursday, August 23 at Susan Bentley Field. Last year the Jemison Panthers finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 5A region three. The Panthers lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Vigor by a score of 55-7.

       Thorsby and Jemison have met a total of 21 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 4-17-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 1995 with Jemison winning by a score of 48-0.
