 2018 Preview

Vincent completed the 2017 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Vincent just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region five with a 3-4 region record.

The Yellow Jackets improved in 2017 with their first winning season since 2013.

Since 2010, Vincent has gone a combined 37-48. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Vincent has managed to compile a record of 122-136. Their 47.0% winning percentage ranks 33rd in Class 2A and 224th in the AHSAA.

The Yellow Jackets will be under the direction of new head football coach Lucas Weatherford as they enter the 2018 season.

The Vincent Yellow Jackets will play in Class 2A region four during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Yellow Jackets remain in 2A but move from region five over to region four.

With a little luck and some improvement, the Yellow Jackets could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region four this season. Vincent has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2014 but hope to return to the post season this year.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent White Plains on Friday, August 24 at Harold Garrett Stadium. Last year the White Plains Wildcats finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in eighth place in Class 4A region five. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over Walter Wellborn by a score of 18-0 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

Vincent and White Plains have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Yellow Jackets have a 0-2-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in with

Vincent returns 2A All-State  running back Chris Hardie. He was named to the second team last season. The Yellow Jackets also return  offensive lineman J.T. Youngblood. He was named to the honorable mention team.
