2018 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
White Plains finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year White Plains finished eighth in Class 4A region five with a 0-7 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Wildcats have not qualified for the playoffs since the 1994 season and would love to end that streak this year. They have never won a playoff game in the school's history. White Plains was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Wildcats want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.0 points a game. The Wildcats would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Since 2010, the White Plains football program has struggled with a record of 20-60. Over the past 25 seasons, White Plains has not won much with a record of 82-158. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 4A and 321st in the AHSAA. The Wildcats are led by head coach Chris White who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 2-28 over the past three seasons at White Plains. The Wildcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach White. Coach White's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 2-28 (6.7%). The White Plains Wildcats will play in Class 4A region six during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Wildcats remain in 4A but move from region five over to region six. This season, the Wildcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region six. The Wildcats open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Vincent on Friday, August 24 at Harold Garrett Stadium. Last year the Vincent Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 2A region five. The Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with a loss to Victory Christian by a score of 54-38. White Plains and Vincent have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 2-0-0 record against the Yellow Jackets. They last met in with | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
