2018 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Beulah finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Beulah just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region three with a 2-4 region record. The Bobcats have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2007 season and would love to end that streak this year. The Bobcats last playoff victory came during the 1994 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. The Bobcats would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 4-16 record. Since 2010, the Beulah football program has struggled with a record of 21-59. Over the past 25 seasons, Beulah has not won much with a record of 71-173. Their 29.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 3A and 343rd in the AHSAA. The Bobcats are led by head coach Cody Flournoy who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 3-7 record in his first season at Beulah. The Bobcats saw improvement from a 1-9 record the season before coach Flournoy arrived. The Bobcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Flournoy. Coach Flournoy's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 3-7 (30.0%). The Beulah Bobcats will play in Class 3A region three during the 2018 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Bobcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region three this season. Beulah has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2007 but hope to return to the post season this year. The Bobcats open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Loachapoka on Friday, August 24 at Loachapoka Stadium. Last year the Loachapoka Indians finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class 1A region three. The Indians closed out the regular season with a loss to Reeltown by a score of 27-6. Beulah and Loachapoka have met a total of 36 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 12-24-0 record against the Indians. They last met in 2005 with Loachapoka winning by a score of 43-0. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
