Colbert County completed the 2017 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region eight, the Indians earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Colbert County's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Fultondale by a score of 39-3. Since 2010, Colbert County has gone a combined 60-37. Their 62.0% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Colbert County has gone a combined 218-91. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 2A and 27th in the AHSAA. The Indians have been successful on the football field with twenty-two winning seasons during this time. The Indians are led by head coach Brett Mask who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 6-5 record in his first season at Colbert County. Under his direction the Indians have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Mask. Coach Mask's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 6-5 (54.5%). The Colbert County Indians will play in Class 2A region seven during the 2018 season. The Indians may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 3A to 2A. They will compete in region seven this year. The Indians will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2011 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2018. The Indians open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Central Florence on Friday, August 24 at C.T. Manley Stadium. Last year the Central Florence Wildcats finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 4A region eight. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over Haleyville by a score of 20-18 after failing to gain a playoff spot. Colbert County and Central Florence have met a total of 44 times on the football field. The Indians have a 38-5-1 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2003 with Colbert County winning by a score of 41-28. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
