Coosa Christian completed the 2017 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 1A region six, the Conquerors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Coosa Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Cherokee by a score of 49-0. The Conquerors last playoff victory came during the 2004 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Coosa Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Conquerors want to be competitive. They only averaged 19.4 points a game. Since 2010, the Coosa Christian football program has struggled with a record of 22-60. Over the past 25 seasons, Coosa Christian has managed to compile a record of 97-139. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 1A and 271st in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2009. The Conquerors are led by head coach Navendra Woods who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-7 record in his first season at Coosa Christian. The Conquerors saw improvement from a 3-8 record the season before coach Woods arrived. Under his direction the Conquerors have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Woods. Coach Woods' overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 4-7 (36.4%). The Coosa Christian Conquerors will play in Class 1A region seven during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Conquerors remain in 1A but move from region six over to region seven. The Conquerors will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season. The Conquerors open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Westbrook Christian on Friday, August 24. Last year the Westbrook Christian Warriors finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 2A region six. The Warriors lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Sulligent by a score of 42-14. Coosa Christian and Westbrook Christian have met a total of 27 times on the football field. The Conquerors have a 9-18-0 record against the Warriors.
