 2018 Preview 


       Tabernacle completed the 2017 season with a 4-5 record.

       Tabernacle took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2009.

       Since 2010, Tabernacle has gone a combined 58-24. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 8 Man over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 21 seasons, Tabernacle has managed to compile a record of 118-68. Their 63.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class 8 Man and 4th in the .




       The Torches are led by head coach Keith Dabbs who is entering his fourteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 74-52 over the past thirteen seasons at Tabernacle. Under his direction the Torches have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have won one region crown with Coach Dabbs. Coach Dabbs led Tabernacle to a state championship in 2007.

       Coach Dabbs' overall record as a head football coach in thirteen season stands at 74-52 (58.7%).

       The Tabernacle Torches will play in Class 8 Man region two during the 2018 season.

      

       The Torches open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Hope Christian on Friday, August 24 at Moncrief Park. Last year the Hope Christian Eagles finished with an overall record of 3-6 and in place in Class 8 Man region one. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 8 Man playoffs to Evangel Christian Alabaster by a score of 60-12.

       Tabernacle and Hope Christian have met a total of 13 times on the football field. The Torches have a 4-9-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2017 with Hope Christian winning by a score of 88-72.
