Carver completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 4-3 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region two, the Wolverines earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Carver's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hillcrest Tuscaloosa by a score of 56-6. Carver was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Wolverines want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.9 points a game. Since 2010, Carver has gone a combined 83-54. Their 60.6% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 6A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Carver has managed to compile a record of 145-136. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 6A and 168th in the AHSAA. The Wolverines are led by head coach Marcus Gardner who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-6 record in his first season at Carver. Under his direction the Wolverines have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Gardner. Coach Gardner's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 5-6 (45.5%). The Carver Wolverines will play in Class 6A region two during the 2022 season. The Wolverines will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region two this season. The Wolverines open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Pine Forest FL on Friday, August 19 at Cramton Bowl. This will be the first meeting between Carver Montgomery and Pine Forest FL on the football field. Carver returns 6A All-State Senior defensive lineman Jaquavious Russaw.
