Under his direction the Yellow Jackets have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have won one region crown with Coach Griffin. Over the course of his career, Coach Griffin's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times and won one region championship. The Yellow Jackets enter the 2023 season riding a 8 game regular season winning streak. Aliceville has won 7 consecutive region games. Receiver Keanthony Wilder will return after catching 42 passes good for 625 yards and 10 TDs as a junior last season. Also back is Tyquan Simon who caught another 35 passes for 589 yards and 12 TDs as a junior last season. The Yellow Jackets open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Pickens County on Friday, August 25 at G.S. Spruill Stadium. Last year the Pickens County Tornados finished with an overall record of 11-4 and in second place in Class 1A region five.
