Carver completed the 2022 season with a 8-2 record. Last year Carver captured the region two title and a number one seed in the Class 6A playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-0 record. It was the first region championship for the Wolverines since the 2014 season. Carver's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to St. Pauls by a score of 13-0. Since 2010, Carver has gone a combined 91-56. Their 61.9% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 6A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Carver has managed to compile a record of 151-129. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 6A and 148th in the AHSAA. The Wolverines are led by head coach Marcus Gardner who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 13-8 over the past two seasons at Carver. Under his direction the Wolverines have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have won one region crown with Coach Gardner. Coach Gardner hopes to continue the success of last season in Montgomery with the Wolverines. The Wolverines enter the 2023 season having won 9 straight region games. The Wolverines are considered one of the favorites for the region two championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. Lineman Kalari Gordon will return to anchor the offensive line in 2023. The Wolverines open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Gadsden City on Friday, August 25 at Titan Stadium. Last year the Gadsden City Titans finished with an overall record of 7-5 and in first place in Class 6A region eight. The Titans lost in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs to Mountain Brook by a score of 37-6. This will be the second meeting between Carver Montgomery and Gadsden City on the football field. The Wolverines have a 0-1-0 record against the Titans. They last met in with Carver lost 6A All-State receiver Marquan Jamerson to graduation. He was named to the first team last season.
