 2023 Preview 


       Glenwood School completed the 2022 season with a 8-4 record. With their 6-1 region record and a second place finish in Class AAA region one, the Gators earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Last year Glenwood School reached the semi-finals before falling to a very good Lee-Scott Academy team by the score of 35-21.

       Since 2010, Glenwood School has gone a combined 85-66. Their 56.3% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class AAA over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Glenwood School has managed to compile a record of 157-123. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class AAA and 15th in the AISA.




       The Gators are led by head coach Ryan Nelson who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-4 record in his first season at Glenwood School. The Gators saw improvement from a 6-5 record the season before coach Nelson arrived. Under his direction the Gators have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Nelson.

       The Gators enter the 2023 season riding a 5 game regular season winning streak.

      

       The Gators open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Brookstone GA on Friday, August 25.

       Glenwood School and Brookstone GA have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Gators have a 1-1-0 record against Brookstone GA. They last met in 2022 with Brookstone GA winning by a score of 25-23.

       Glenwood School lost AISA All-State  running back Jermarkest Banks to graduation. He was named to the second team last season. Also graduating was teammate athlete Aaron Burton.

       The Gators return AISA All-State Senior quarterback Dallas Crow. He was named to the first team last season. The Gators also return Senior offensive lineman Lemont Burton. He was named to the second team.
