2023 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Northridge completed the 2022 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region four, the Jaguars earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Northridge's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Pelham by a score of 44-14. Since 2010, Northridge has gone a combined 65-73. Their 47.1% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 6A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 20 seasons, Northridge has managed to compile a record of 88-120. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 43rd in Class 6A and 273rd in the AHSAA. The Jaguars are led by head coach Ryan Lolley who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 7-4 record in his first season at Northridge. Under his direction the Jaguars have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Lolley. His 106 wins rank 57th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Lolley's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of ten times and won six region championships. The Jaguars should be in contention for a playoff spot in region four this season. Hosting a first round playoff game on their home turf would be an advantage. The Jaguars open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Oak Mountain on Friday, August 25 at Northridge Stadium. Last year the Oak Mountain Eagles finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in eighth place in Class 7A region three. Northridge and Oak Mountain have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Jaguars have a 2-2-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2022 with Oak Mountain winning by a score of 23-14. Northridge lost 6A All-State offensive lineman Wilkin Formby to graduation. He was named to the first team last season. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
