Westminster Christian completed the 2022 season with a 6-5 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region eight, the Wildcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Westminster Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to West Morgan by a score of 27-7. It marked the first time since the 2019 season that the Wildcats qualified for the playoffs. The high-scoring Westminster Christian offense ranked 13th in the AHSAA. They averaged 42.9 points a game. Westminster Christian had a very good offense last year, scoring 42.9 points per game, but it couldn't keep up with a defense that gave up 37.3 points per game. Since 2010, Westminster Christian has gone a combined 81-57. Their 58.7% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 4A over the past thirteen seasons. The Wildcats are led by head coach Louis LeBlanc who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 42-33 over the past seven seasons at Westminster Christian. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won two region crowns with Coach LeBlanc. The Wildcats are considered one of the favorites for the region eight championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. QB Brandon Musch will be returning after completing 216 of 363 passes for 2,403 yards last season along with 32 touchdowns. Musch also rushed for another 1,395 yards and scored 26 TDs. The defense will be led by Zeke Carwile this season after collecting 159 total tackles last season. The Wildcats open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Lee Huntsville on Friday, August 25 at Milton Frank Stadium. Last year the Lee Huntsville Generals finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 6A region eight. The Generals closed out the regular season with a loss to Boaz by a score of 21-20. Westminster Christian and Lee Huntsville have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 2-2-0 record against the Generals. They last met in 2022 with Westminster Christian winning by a score of 44-23. Westminster Christian lost 4A All-State receiver Owen Lockette to graduation. He was named to the first team last season. The Wildcats return 4A All-State Senior athlete Brandon Musch.
