 2024 Preview 


       Bayside Academy completed the 2023 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region one, the Admirals earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. Bayside Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jacksonville by a score of 35-7.

       Since 2010, Bayside Academy has gone a combined 105-60. Their 63.6% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 3A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 23 seasons, Bayside Academy has managed to compile a record of 145-108. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 19th in Class 3A and 114th in the AHSAA.

Graduated All-State Players:
       Bayside Academy lost 4A All-State  offensive lineman Graham Uter to graduation. He was named to the second team last season.

Head Coach:
       The Admirals are led by head coach Barrett Trotter who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-3 record in his first season at Bayside Academy. The Admirals saw improvement from a 6-5 record the season before coach Trotter arrived. Under his direction the Admirals have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Trotter.

Season Outlook:

       The Bayside Academy Admirals will play in Class 3A region one during the 2024 season. The Admirals may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 4A to 3A. They will compete in region one this year.

      

       The Eagles have qualified for the playoffs in each of the past five seasons and have hopes of extending that streak in 2024.

       QB Sammy Dunn transferred to Vigor over the summer to be closer to his grandparents. His loss will impact the team but there will still be a cast of talented players as always for the Admirals in 2024.

    The Admirals should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. Hosting a first round playoff game on their home turf would be an advantage.

Players to Watch in 2024:
      RB Damien Tate will be back too for his junior season after rushing for 606 yards and 3 TDs last season. RB Jayden Griffin will also be returning for his junior season after rushing for 442 yards and 4 TDs last season.

      DE Billy Neill collected 123 tackles (58 solo) including 2 sacks and will be back for his junior season. Also returning is MLB Monroe Partin who added 108 tackles last season.

Season Opener:
       The Admirals open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent St. Michael on Friday, August 23 at Freedom Field. Last year the St. Michael Cardinals finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in fourth place in Class 4A region one. The Cardinals lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Handley by a score of 68-38.

       Bayside Academy and St. Michael have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Admirals have a 4-1-0 record against the Cardinals. They last met in 2023 with Bayside Academy winning by a score of 27-21.
