2024 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Francis Marion finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-8 record. Last year Francis Marion finished sixth in Class 2A region one with a 0-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Rams have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2024. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Francis Marion averaged scoring just 13.3 points a game. The Rams would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-15 record. Since 2010, Francis Marion has gone a combined 35-103. Their 25.4% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 1A over the past fourteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Francis Marion has not won much with a record of 67-183. Their 27.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 1A and 364th in the AHSAA. The Rams have struggled on the football field with only three winning seasons during this time. Head Coach: The Rams are led by head coach Termaine Todd who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 3-15 over the past two seasons at Francis Marion. The Rams have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Todd. Season Outlook: The Francis Marion Rams will play in Class 1A region three during the 2024 season. The Rams may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 2A to 1A. They will compete in region three this year. The Rams of Francis Marion just need to win some football games before thinking about making the playoffs anytime soon. The last time they reached the playoffs was in 2018. The Rams will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region three this season. After just a single win last year, Francis Marion will be hopeful of winning a few more games this season. Season Opener: The Rams open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Greene County on Friday, August 30 at Rams Stadium. Last year the Greene County Tigers finished with an overall record of 2-7 and in seventh place in Class 2A region five. Francis Marion and Greene County have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Rams have a 0-7-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2023 with Greene County winning by a score of 13-0. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
