The 1950 Etowah Blue Devils were chosen Class A State Champions by the Alabama Journal
Head coach James Glover would conclude his fourth year at the helm of the Blue Devils with a 37-1-2 record and the first state championship for Etowah. He was assisted by line coach Ned Colburn.
Wyman Townsel and Hardy Hester were named co-captains for the Blue Devils. Etowah would cap the season with a 13-0 victory over rival Gadsden in the annual Charity Bowl.
