Chris Yeager is a graduate of the University of North Alabama. He served as the offensive line coach at Troy State before taking over at West Blocton embarking upon his high school coaching career.
Yeager landed his first head coaching job in 1991 at West Blocton High School. In two seasons with the Tigers his teams went 20-4. The 1992 squad finished 12-1, reaching the third round of the playoffs before losing.
In 1993, he accepted the head coaching job at Walker High School in Jasper. Two seasons produced a 5-16 record before he stepped down after the 1994 season.
Coach Yeager took over the football program at Mountain Brook in the fall of 2006. He remains with the Spartans entering the 2023 season with an overall record of 178-85 in twenty-two seasons as a head football coach.
Yeager was named the head coach for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star football game in 2012. Yeager served as the All-Star teams offensive coordinator in the 2008 game won by Alabama 28-3.
