Alabama High School Football Head Coaches

Ken Adams


Ken Adams, a native of Fulton, MS, spent time as an assistant coach at Huffman and McAdory before becoming the head football coach at Calera in the fall of 1996.

Calera finished with a 47-47 record during Adams nine seasons at the helm. The Eagles finished 11-1 in 2004, losing their final game to Southern Choctaw in the second round of the playoffs.

Following the season, he was named coach of the year by both the Shelby County Coaches Association and the Shelby County Reporter.

Coach Adams resigned following the 2004 season at Calera to accept the head coaching position at Ardmore High School. His one team at Ardmore went 0-10.

After spending the 2006 season as an assistant at Paul Bryant High School, Adams took over the football program at Lamar County in 2007. His teams went 61-32 in the nine years he was at Lamar County.

In 2015, Adams took the head coaching position at Susan Moore where he remained for two seasons.

Coach Adams overall record as a head coach is 114-104 in 20 seasons as a head coach in Alabama. Coach Adams took over the head coaching duties at Hatley Mississippi in 2017 and moved on to Mantachie in 2020.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Demopolis scored a record 761 points during the 2004 season. The Tigers finished the season 15-0.
