  1979 - The first five games were coached by Frank Kush prior to his firing and Bob Owens finished out the season. Arizona State later forfeited four of their wins, including three conference victories.
  2022 - After starting the season with 1-2, head coach Herm Edwards was fired on September 18. Shaun Aguano took over as interim head coach.
